i’ve been a competition dance mom for five years.  I’ve been to some of Amazing competitions and some that are not so amazing.   This competition only has two levels.  Unfortunately this would be a not so amazing one.  We have three large group dances.  All three dances were placed in the lower category. The lower category In our case two of large group dances, 30+ dancers aging from kindergarten to seniors(  approximately six of them could be considered advanced dancers).  Unfortunately two of our dances scored extreme platinum switch put them into the higher category. We were informed that dances would be moved up because they have scored so high  and how impressed the judges were.  Then they proceeded to penalize us for five points for each of the two dances,  which made them no longer extreme and therefore had no chance for an overall and received no mention at all.   To say that the kids were extremely disappointed and confused would be an understatement.  To work hard and put on the best performance possible only to be penalized was heartbreaking. Should you choice to do this  competition please make sure you do your research not only for yourself but for your kids.
