This month’s featured dancer is Jocelynn McCain!

DA: How old were you when you started dancing and how old are you now?

Jocelynn: I was 2 when I started dancing, I am now 12

DA: How did you get into dance?

Jocelynn: I was put into dance after my sister loved it so much and my parents decided to put me in it as well to see if I liked it, I did.

DA: What studio do you currently dance at?

Jocelynn: I currently dance at Brianna’s Elite Dance company.

DA: What is your favorite dance style?

Jocelynn:I love all styles but contemporary is my favorite because it lets express myself.

DA: Who has been the most inspirational teacher that you have had and why?

Jocelynn: The most inspirational teacher that i’ve had is Jackie Diamond, she gives me many corrections to make me better, she also teaches me to be myself and challenges me.

DA: Have you ever had any obstacles you had to overcome in order to keep dancing?

Jocelynn: Some challenges that I had to overcome to keep dancing is giving up time with my friends, sleep and getting my homework and projects done in order to get A’s.

DA: What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given during your dance career?

Jocelynn: Never try to be better than anybody else, try to be better than yourself but use the person “better” than you as motivation to be better.

DA: What do you foresee yourself doing with dance in the future?

Jocelynn: I would love to be known in the dance world as an amazing dancer and choreographer.

DA: Anything else you want to share?

Jocelynn: Be your self, show your personality and FACIALS!!!
